Literacy 1
Course Description
Literacy 1 in the Lower Section (P1 to P3) at St. Mary’s Seeta School focuses on building foundational language skills using the learners’ familiar language as a bridge to understanding. The subject emphasizes listening, speaking, early reading, and writing through interactive activities such as storytelling, songs, rhymes, and guided conversations.
Pupils are helped to recognize sounds, form letters, and develop basic word and sentence structures in a meaningful and engaging way. By connecting learning to their everyday experiences, Literacy 1 nurtures confidence, comprehension, and effective communication skills, providing a strong base for future learning across all subjects.
